١- عليك الاتصال بالشرطة وعمل تقرير (Police report). يمكن عمل التقرير هاتفيا. ستحتاج لرقم التقرير في حالة قيام السارق بعمل مخالفات أو جرائم باستخدام السيارة. كما ستحتاج له عند الاتصال بشركة التأمين. 

٢- ثم تتصل بشركة التأمين (إن كان هناك تأمين يشمل السرقة)، وتبلغهم برقم التقرير Police report. ستبلغك شركة التأمين بالإجراءات.

إذا كنت تشك في أن تكون سيارتك قد تم سحبها بسبب وقوفها في مكان ممنوع، فيمكك ان تتأكد من ذلك عن طريق الموقع التالي (بالنسبة لولاية NSW):

1. Call the police and get a police report number. You will need this number if the thief makes any offences or crimes using your car. Moreover, you will need it when calling the insurance company. 

2. If you have car insurance that covers theft, call the insurance provider and give them the police report number. They would guide you through the rest of the claim process.
