If you came to Australia to stay and live, please, refer to the following question about the paperwork you need to get done.

If you come for a short visit, it might be better to do nothing! Any paperwork you do might be used as evidence that you are a resident of Australia for tax purposes! Refer to the Australian Taxation Office for further details.
